Housekeeping: e-DHQ and Error-Reporting Fixed

We fixed a glitch in our e-DHQ sign-up form, so please try to sign up again if you haven't heard from us. The next e-DHQ will go out before March.

The sign-ups are in the left margin of most pages, but here's the main maintenance page:

This blog is also available by e-mail. See the sign-up box in the right margin of this page, powered by Bloglet.

DeMarco Says "Keep Growing" [CIO.com.au]

Peopleware coauthor Tom DeMarco is quoted in Part III of "Ready for Retirement," by Sue Bushell, posted on CIO.com.au:
"It's important to keep growing," says Tom DeMarco, a consultant at Cutter Consortium in Arlington, Massachusetts, in the US. "As we learned from the 1990s and again in the downturn in 2004, corporations have no particular loyalty, even to people on the brink of retirement. . . ."
DeMarco, winner of the 1986 Warnier Prize for "lifetime contribution to the field of computing" and the 1999 Stevens Award for "contribution to the methods of software development," serves as director of the annual Camden Conference, to be held in Camden, Maine, from Feb. 24 to 26.
