Sharon Marsh Roberts and Ken Roberts work with large
corporations on projects that are new to the corporationson
implementations their clients would prefer to avoid.
They also write together, and for fun, they are active
in backcountry skiing and tandem bicycling.
Both Sharon and Ken use their business and technical
expertise to facilitate multidisciplinary teams, bringing
together technical experts and business leaders to tackle
new and difficult projects. Ken has worked primarily
with companies in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.
Sharon has worked in financial reporting and systems
for companies in entertainment, banking, insurance,
and pharmaceuticals.
Ken is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries and has
a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Sharon is a C.P.A. with
an M.B.A. and an Advanced Professional Certificate in
Finance and Accounting. Sharon has served as chair of
the Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA),
in which capacity her goal was to seek new ways for
consultants to work together to meet the needs of their
clients.
Ken has authored ten scientific papers, and his Ph.D.
thesis was on active touch with a multi-finger robot
hand. At AT&T Bell Labs, he researched computer
vision and animation. He has also consulted with clients
on major issues, ranging from interest-rate derivatives
to business process risk analysis and contingency planning.
Ken has designed and programmed innovative systems and
has managed multi-person teams. Most recently, he led
an international life insurance project for a major
insurance company.
Sharon's projects have included systems to implement
executive and technical leaders' compensation plans,
an FDA-mandated system to identify and collect nonclinical
payments to investigators on clinical studies, an insurance
system to pay physicians in managed-care arrangements,
and numerous financial reporting systems.
